The Essence of Text

The early internet looked like this: a black screen, a blinking cursor, and nothing but text.

This blog is the same — no thumbnails, no sidebar, just text and you.

Images feed you the picture directly. Text forces you to build it in your head. That participation is something no high-res image can replace. As a bonus, pure-text pages load absurdly fast — even the oldest device handles them fine.
