HOOD has been on fire. A few 100m memes ran — cashcat, pons — and BSC had its own runners. Missed them all.
I went heavy on basecat, was up 50% at one point, then gave it all back and exited flat. Cat szn? That’s just talk — you actually believed it?
Scorecard
Caught plenty of 1x–20x on BSC and SOL, but all small size — never moved the needle.
Hit about 50x on meow on HOOD (if that’s what it was called, I can barely remember). Made a bit on HOOD NFTs too.
Then I sized up on a few HOOD memes, round-tripped everything and then some. Net negative.
The One That Hurts
Old Wu — bought at 10k, sold at 8k, it ran to 5m. A 500x.
Couldn’t even hold that tiny amount. Painful.
What Actually Suits Me
I’ve done PvP, I’ve diamond-handed. What finally fits me is just two things:
1. Catch the anomaly
however they accumulate or wash, if they want to make money they have to pump. All inside info shows up in price — I just watch price.
That’s what years of trading futures taught me — I barely look at news to trade, because news is already in the price.
2. Follow the leader
HOOD made it crystal clear: narrative quality doesn’t matter — what matters is what the leader buys, what the leader likes.
What you like is irrelevant. You don’t have the capital.
Why I Ended Up Down
One reason: oversized bets on HOOD memes + FOMOing in repeatedly.
HOOD chops hard. I’m a short-term trader by habit — see an anomaly and want to jump in, then get chopped both ways. All the small wins from earlier got handed back in a few heavy trades.
HOOD rewards diamond hands, but I’m wired for scalps, and I can’t afford to sit long — sunk cost is high. When direction is wrong, you need to adjust fast. I didn’t.
Is HOOD Done?
Some say the fish tail. I don’t think so.
A real fish tail looks like this: a B-tier meme shows up, you stay in the game, but you’ve already been killed by the preceding junk memes before the real runner arrives — so when the bull finally comes, you’re already dead.
So rule number one for making money: never die. Stay in the game, stay alive for the next hand.
